test/mpi's has 2 sets of compilers,
i.e. standard compilers, CC/F77/FC/CXX and BASE compilers,

When test/mpi's configure is run as part of mpich2 build,
standard compilers which are set to install MPI wrappers
are used in the Makefiles, BASE compilers which are set
to the native compilers (used by the MPI wrappers) are used
to run configure tests. The approach is complicated to manage
especially after MPICH2 configure splits compiler flags into
MPICH2LIB_*FLAGS and *FLAGS (which will be contained by MPI wrappers).

Therefore test/mpi's configure didn't pass any user compiler flags to
any configure tests. So the configure will produce wrong results of any
compiler flags that change the behavior of the compiler, e.g. gfortran's
-fcray-pointer. tests in test/mpi's are inconsistent in the use of *FLAGS
and LDFLAGS in the explicit compile/link commands.

[6673eb9bbbbfec31aa4b739a854e6fd44aa6bafb] adds internal flag -nativelinking (without linking to any MPICH2 libraries) to MPI wrappers so the builtdir version can be used to replace BASE* compilers. [363643171b9315d42e3793a82c5f51b0e2ff6203] replaced BASE* compilers by builtdir version of MPI wrappers, replaced all AC_TRY_* by AC_*_IFELSE and removed all references of AC_FD_CC. Also ensure
MPI wrappers are tested by [P]AC_PROG_(compiler). [b44629aac9a741b039422f52481de814b6241569] uses LDFLAGS instead
*FLAGS to set -nativelinking.

test/mpi still fails with BG/P's MPI, reopen the case.
