#1436 assigned bug

using pmi2 causes aborts

Reported by: buntinas Owned by: balaji
Priority: major Milestone: mpich-3.3
Component: mpich Keywords:

Description (last modified by balaji)

This is a placeholder to remind us to look into this further. A (very incomplete) description of the problem follows.

When configured with --with-pmi=pmi2, cpi was aborting. It looked like a segfault in an sprintf (or sscanf) during pmi2 parsing, but due to compiler optimizations, I couldn't debug very far. Disabling the compiler optimizations resulted in ddd being killed, so I suspect that the problem was in the proxy.

  • Milestone set to mpich2-1.6
  • Owner set to balaji
  • Status changed from new to assigned

I'll look to see if the process manager is causing problems here. But in general, the entire PMI-2 code needs a revamp.
