#1595 new bug

Workaround bad /etc/hosts configurations

Reported by: balaji Owned by: raffenet
Priority: major Milestone: mpich-3.3
Component: mpich Keywords:

Description (last modified by balaji)

The /etc/hosts files on some distributions (e.g., Ubuntu) seem to have an IP address of 127.0.1.1 for the local node. This is a problem if MPICH2 picks that IP address first and tries to pass it in its business card since it's not remotely accessible.

In Hydra, we already try to find IP addresses that are remotely accessible for the mpiexec server IP to which all proxies connect. We can use the same logic for the IP addresses that we pass to mpich2 processes as well.
